Chronic Zing Celebrates Five Years On The Web

Classic Sketch Comedy podcast now available.

By Jason Spencer - July 17, 2006

Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away, before the onslaught of Google Video or YouTube, the Internet distribution of films was a novelty.

The earliest version of our website featured sketch comedy from "The Chronic Zing Show," a TV pilot episode we produced in 1998. Other favorites such as "Skank" "Stupid Idiot" and "Unsung Hero" followed.

But on April 5, 2001, Chronic Zing Entertainment’s humble website came online. Originally programmed in Microsoft Word by a ragtag band of college buddies, the website was intended to be a showcase of their talents. Ever seen a flannel shirt attack its owner? How about a sweaty guy shaking his booty to techno or songs about fat girls? Well, you could at ChronicZing.com. Throughout its first few years, Chronic Zing’s creative minds released a gaggle of silly, misguided humor upon an unsuspecting public.

To celebrate, we've created an iPod compatible podcast for those of you who've been craving our older material. Go to our portfolio page and subscribe!

There have been quite a few changes over the years, but the website still remains a testament to stupid humor. If you’d like to see what ChronicZing.com looked like five years ago, click this link to visit the cached version at the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. Some of the links don’t work, but if you dig deep enough you’ll find golden nuggets of Chronic Zing goodness.
